A new year and new decade is upon us, but we’re still thinking about 2009. Partly because we procrastinated putting together year-end lists, and partly because we’re feeling nostalgic. So, allow us to do a bit of dwelling in the past to bring you our list of the 24 essential album of 2009. We’re not pretentious enough to say these albums are the best the year had to offer, but these are albums we feel made a big noise, were important to pop culture, and/or were just damn awesome.

Mario – D.N.A.: Contemporary r&b mixed with a little bit of pop gives Baltimore boy Mario’s latest disc some mainstream crossover flare. It also gives its listeners some nice baby making music.

Mario is seen having a threesome in the music video which is filmed to support his latest single titled ‘Ooh Baby’.

Mario’s music video for his single “Ooh Baby” has just made its way out via Bossip. Directed by Mickey Finnegan, it follows the “Let Me Love You” hitmaker as he is making his way to the hotel room with two girls by his side and having a threesome with them.

“Ooh Baby” is the third single from Mario’s fourth studio album “D.N.A.” which has been released since October 2009. It is aimed to follow up the second single “Thinkin’ About You” which was put out for free download on January 7.

Mario will be seen performing at LAX Niteclub in Las Vegas on January 23. He then will fly to Miami on February 5 and sing at Shore Club. Another concert is set up at Ohio State University on February 20. Other forthcoming shows from Mario can be obtained on his MySpace.

Urban gossip sites had linked him with Audra Simmons after her appearance in his music video “Break Up” Feat. Sean Garrett. Mario’s latest effort “D.N.A.” is in stores now, featuring the hit single “Break Up” and its follow up “Thinkin’ About You”.

As his new album D.N.A. tops the charts, he stepped up to pose for our provocative “Ink Not Mink” campaign in a sexy ad, baring his “Soul Truth” tattoo (and his chest).

Mario says “I’ve been offered deals to wear fur … for tour and for stage.” But Mario proves with this ad that he’d rather go shirtless than steal the skin of a beautiful animal.

Mario also sat down with PETA for an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview, where he opens up about his lifelong love for animals and even serenades the camera with a soulful tune. You can watch the interview here.
